Tired of missing?-If you've ever shot at someone under your crosshair and missed without knowing why, fired the at a sniper from across the map and wondered how likely you were to land a hit, or just wanted to know how close you need to be to land all your Scattergun pellets, you'll appreciate the importance of seeing the potential spread of your weapons. This is a pack of crosshairs which represent weapon spread, and covers most of the weapons in the game. It also includes a minimalist, high-visibility dot crosshair for precision weapons and a graduated crosshair which is useful for arcing projectile weapons.Important Features- The central dot on each crosshair is white, surrounded by a black outline. This makes it visible under all lighting conditions. It's also small, so it won't disrupt your vision.- Each crosshair is fully recolorable.

Note that recoloring the crosshair will change the color of the white part of the central dot as well, so it's best to use light colors if you want the crosshair to remain visible in all lighting conditions.- These crosshairs are designed for FoV 90 and clcrosshairscale 48 (unless stated otherwise).- At the bottom is some example script on how you can have a different crosshair for each weapon for each class. For example, you can have the Scattergun-spread crosshair when you have the Scattergun drawn and the Pistol-spread crosshair when you have the Pistol drawn. How TF2 Weapon Spread works-All weapons can spread in a SQUARE pattern.
However, bullets will almost always land inside of the circle inscribed within the square, as demonstrated by this image:!Weapon Spread(')Correspondingly, the crosshairs provided here are circular, and will encompass very nearly every shot from the weapons they're intended to be used with. This also makes it easier to 'feel' the center of the crosshair than would be the case for a square crosshair. The spread of each weapon is stated in its.ctx file, located in C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonTeam Fortress 2tftf2miscdir.vpk, under a parameter called 'Spread'. Many weapons, including between classes, have common values for Spread, leading to families of weapons which can share crosshairs. It's worth noting that shots don't come from the center of the screen, but from the upper-right. Like, for example, I wanna have it so I don't have to manually change crosshairs everytime I switch to specific weapons, like from the Sniper Rifle to the Huntsman.
Unfortunately, no. The script language that TF2 interprets is pretty rudimentary, so 'fancy' things like conditionals aren't possible. The only real workaround would is to have a toggle. For example, in your Sniper.cfg, you could put: alias primaryCrosshairToggle goHuntsmanCrosshair alias goHuntsmanCrosshair 'alias primaryCrosshairToggle goSniperRifleCrosshair; alias primaryCrosshair ProjectileCrosshair; currentCrosshair' alias goSniperRifleCrosshair 'alias primaryCrosshairToggle goHuntsmanCrosshair; alias primaryCrosshair DotCrosshair; currentCrosshair' bind p primaryCrosshairToggle Then you could press 'p' to toggle your primary crosshair setting, and it would stay that way until toggled again or upon switching classes.
It's not really convenient, but neither is the TF2 scripting language.Well, alright then. Thanks for that.EDIT: Would this replace the class cfg code above?Nintendo Fanatic.

Will this work on Valve servers, I'd love to have this on them, looks really helpful.Any server with 'svpure 1' (like all Valve servers, as of about a year ago) won't allow custom anything, including crosshairs. However, there are two workarounds.1. If these are added directly to a GUI, they will work in svpure 1 servers (including Valve servers). I've never made a GUI, so I honestly don't even know how to go about doing that, but I'm sure there are plenty of people around here who know more about that than I do.2. This is more of a temporary solution, but it's the one I personally use at the moment. If you go to an svpure server with a custom crosshair, you'll end up with a checkered box instead of a crosshair.
